Jeff's Lex–Toy LLC Engine Repair

Jeff Viens, Owner & Manager at Jeff's Lex–Toy LLC

Jeff Viens opened Jeff's Lex–Toy LLC in December of 2009 after working at Toyota and Lexus dealerships for over 15 years. His goal was not only to provide quality maintenance and repair services, but also to treat customers how they deserved to be treated.

Too often, he had watched customers sit in waiting rooms for hours while no one was even looking at their cars–and then they were charged for that time. He saw how much customers paid for little things like light bulbs, fuses, and quick road tests. For him, it was mind blowing and unethical.

Jeff knew that if he took care of his customers, and treated them with honesty and respect, he would have customers for life. Our consistently excellent customer reviews show that he was right. Jeff offers his technicians a safe, clean, and well-lit workshop.

He knows this promotes quality work as well as customer satisfaction. For customers, Jeff provides a clean waiting room with refreshments, Wi–Fi, and TV. Our restroom conveniently offers a diaper changing station for parents. The effort is worth it–Jeff receives lots of compliments on how neat the shop, waiting room, and restroom are kept.

From the Owner

When I was about 10 years old, I started working on dirt bikes, 4–wheelers, ATVs, and project cars with my cousin. I loved taking things apart and putting them back together, just to see how they worked. But it was when my cousin got a 1974 Chevy Nova project car that I knew I wanted to work on cars and build my own someday. I was 14 years old, and I had found my passion and my career.

At age 16, I bought a 1978 Chevy Malibu, and every year I made it faster than the year before. I began drag racing at a local race track–New England Dragway in Epping, NH. My friends and I would drive up to the track on Friday nights, take my tools and race tires out of my trunk, put them on right there, and go racing. I won two championships with my Malibu in the Street Class Point Race in 2004 and 2005. Over 20 years later, I still have that car, although I retired it from racing years ago. But that’s not to say my need for speed isn’t still increasing every year–I have owned an 8-second 1968 Camaro, and I now have a 7–second dragster that goes 0–170 MPH in 7.7 seconds.

I went to Whittier Vocational Tech High School in Haverhill, Mass. I started in the automotive program my sophomore year, and was employed at a Toyota dealer my junior year. For my senior year, I was able to work part-time and go on co–op at the Toyota dealership.

I stayed at the Toyota dealership for 10 years, starting at the very bottom and working my way to the very top–by the time I left, I was Shop Foreman and Lead Master Diagnostic Technician. Feeling the need to grow, I went to work at a Massachusetts Lexus dealership, where I became a Lexus Master Diagnostic Technician in a year and a team leader in charge of four techs.

While I was doing well professionally, I was growing tired of dealership politics. I felt like a robot whose only responsibility was to produce numbers. When you’re treated like a machine and not like a person, even work you love can seem unfulfilling. That’s why I decided to open my own shop, and after a few years of learning and planning, I did just that.
